Rain Stops at Lord’s Command: Witness the Rath Yatra
यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत। अभ्युत्थानमधर्मस्य तदात्मानं सृजाम्यहम्॥
Bhagavad Gita 4.7
Asha is an old man. He had wanted to see the Rath Yatra since he was a child. He remembers his mother singing about the big chariot. He goes to the temple with a small bag. He feels happy but also worried about his health.
Dark clouds come over the temple. The sky is gray and the air smells like wet earth. The temple bells ring loudly. People stand still and look up. Their faces show hope and fear.
Asha whispers his prayer inside the courtyard. He asks the Lord to let him see the chariot. His voice shakes a little. He hears the priests chanting quietly. He feels calm inside his heart.
It starts to rain. The rain falls softly at first, then it gets heavy. The water soaks the devotees. The chariot’s wheels seem to pause. Asha’s heart beats fast as the rain covers the road.
"When we pray with true heart, the sky listens."— Samresh Pathak
The rain stops suddenly. A little white clouds part and the sky shines bright. The chariot rolls forward on a dry road. Asha smiles and cries with gratitude. He knows the Lord protected him. He wants to share this story with everyone.
